Kronberg Garden - The Tiny House Project

A New Secluded Space In The Garden

One of my bigger dreams has got true! A month before we have left for our long winter break, Kronberg garden has got a brand new constructed tiny house on wheels.

This did not happen by accident, of course. There have been rather exciting moments until it got secured properly at its designated place.

It all began last summer, with a lot of research for small mobile homes to stay for weekends, and a new contact to a very committed, young Bulgarian architect. She has sent us interesting drawings of her tiny house designs at a reasonable price, and an invitation to see their factory nearby Sophia. So, after a bit of re-designing, it was only natural to go there and have a look. What we have seen on our trip was convincing enough to give it a ‘GO’, and 3 months later the 6.5 meters long, 2.6 meters wide tiny house, fully equipped with kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom was delivered on a truck.

I have to admit that I still cannot quite believe it utterly, but the investment, construction and delivery, right before the first snow last December, worked out very well. Have a day later and the road up hill would have been icy! It took its time, before we could lift the heavy pergola, protecting the entrance door. Thanks to our neighbours’ help, eventually, I was able to send good news to the constructor, that nothing was broken. Next, we managed to connect the tiny house to the power supply, and then ‘grinds to a halt’. Due to icy temperatures, heavy snowfall and last but not least, lots of preperation for our winter break in the South, the Kronberg garden project has been put on hold.

The Fascinating Construction Of Our Tiny House

And here it is… our JOY, ready to adapt for secluded, green getaways

When we got back from the warm South, Kronberg garden was covered in snow, again. However, it was just a question of days until the springtime temperatures let the sprouts and buds grow. A few weeks ago, we were able to connect the water supply to the house, and now, the summer season can begin; lots of ideas to set up our tiny house are coming up, and it is good fun to ‘move in’, but we all know the saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day” 😉

    Liebe Claudia, lieber Ernst,

      LG, Claudia

Wow looks wonderful Claudia. Thanks for showing how it all looks inside. My acupuncturist was doing something similar in Poland, though hers came in stages, and the plumbing is only now going in after a year.

You and Ernest are going to love this retreat. All well here, after brilliant Easter weather (which we now worry about because of climate change) we are back to chilly but occassionally sunny spring.

    • You are welcome, Brenda!
Unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy it in the splendid Easter weather, but the summer hasn’t started, yet.
Plumbing is all done, only the hot water is missing. We are working on that. And there is no toilet indoors. Our compost toilet in the shed has to do.

P.S.: Never worry about beautiful weather 🙂

What an exquisite space! Who could not feel joy and at peace in such a cosy house and beautiful surroundings. A true nourishment for mind, body and soul.
